Sharon “Lynne” Ward, age 74, of Wilmington, formerly of Carney’s Point, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2023.
Lynne graduated from Penns Grove High School in 1967 and then earned an Associates degree from Salem County College. She worked in retail sales for 12 years before becoming a homemaker. Lynne was a member of Bethel Bible Baptist Church in Penns Grove, NJ.
Lynne enjoyed puzzles, seek a word, and was an avid Engelbert Humperdinck fan and lover. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson Joshua.
Lynne is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Ward, who passed in 2004. They were married 14 years and were inseparable. They had a Romeo and Juliet love story. Also preceding her is her mother Iris Mason Harrington and grandmother Grace Elizabeth Mason.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon L. Taylor and grandson, Joshua Pierce; sister, Diana Kerswill; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, and extended family.
A committal service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 13, 2022 at Salem County Veterans Cemetery, 719 Route 45; Pilesgrove, NJ 08098.
