Shirley L Giannattasio, age 62, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019.
Shirley was a mother, nana, daughter, sister, and aunt . She was born January 15, 1957 to Harold O. Jester and Ida Stevens. Shirley grew up in Elsmere, Delaware and was a graduate of Conrad High School for the class of 1975. She was a cheerleader and baton twirler. Her hobbies included sewing, pottery and painting. She was a single mother and worked hard as a waitress at "Cosmo's" and "Paper Plate" restaurants. She would become a mother of two and later had a career as an administrative assistant. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially cookouts and pool parties.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Frank Jones. She is survived by her daughter, Traci Robinson-McGinnis (Brian McGinnis) of Newark, her son Joshua Giannattasio of Elsmere, her 3 sisters, Ruthann Rapuano, Debbie Johnson, and Denise Jester. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Matthew Robinson, Brandon Robinson, Sean Mcginnis, Brooke Robinson, Kylee Mcginnis and Sophie Mcginnis. She also had 3 nieces, 3 nephews, 1 great-niece and 1 great-nephew.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, July 20th at Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 E. Justis St., Newport DE where visitation will begin at 1 pm. Burial will be private.
