Suzanne H. Shoemaker

Suzanne H. Shoemaker, age 88, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

Sue was the daughter of Harvey and Helen Hayes of Richardson Park. She was graduated from Conrad High School, class of 1954, and Muskingum University in Ohio, class of 1958. Sue taught at Mt. Pleasant Jr. High School and was an instructor at Delaware Technical and Community College. She was also a customer service representative for the Lady Christina, Barclay's Bank of Delaware, Beneficial, and HSBC.

Sue was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and meeting people.

She is survived by her children, Anne W. Anastasia of North Wilmington and Dr. J. Adam Shoemaker (Amy) of Tampa, Florida and five grandchildren; Slightly, Gail and James Shoemaker and Elena and James Anastasia.

Funeral services will be at 2pm on Saturday, May 10, at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St. Newport, DE 19804 with visitation beginning at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sending a donation in her name to the Sunday Breakfast Mission or planting a tree in her memory.
