Mrs. Thelma Petticrew peacefully went home to Jesus April 23rd 2016 in New Castle DE.
Raised in Wilmington DE, she wed her devoted husband Bill in 1980. Ever the outstanding caregiver, she worked in the medical field until she retired. Then, this cherished grandmother baby sat her twin grandsons Michael and Brandon all day long, five days a week, from infancy until pre-K. Thelma will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and faith in the Lord. She loved her church; she presented a children’s sermon, participated in skits and taught a Discipleship class. Thelma loved to travel and the beach was her all time vacation favorite. She was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles football fan.
Thelma is survived by her husband Bill, her son Chip Deaton, her brother Sewell, granddaughter Nicolle, grandsons Nathan, Michael and Brandon, niece Samantha and nephew Scotty.
A memorial service will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, 300 E. Basin Rd. New Castle DE on Saturday May 14th 2016 at 11:00 AM with visitation starting 10:00 AM.
