Of the Wilmington area, joined her late husband on Saturday, December 29, 2012 in the care of Seasons Hospice.
Thelma was born in Wilimington in 1923 to the late George and Mayannah Green. Her family moved to Newport in 1938. She graduated from Henry C. Conrad High School in 1941 and from Women's College, University of Delaware in July 1944. Thelma was employed by DuPont in the Engineering Department until her marriage. She returned to DuPont in 1972 in the legal Department and retired in 1986.
Thelma enjoyed collecting shells at the beach, walking in Olde New Castle, and was a prolific knitter. She was an avid sports fan.
Thelma was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, James H. Webb in 2004 and her son, Jamie Webb in 1984. She is survived by her sons, Michael and his wife Barbara and Stephen and his wife Gail, his sister Carole Jones and her husband Gilbert; her brother Dallas Green and his wife Sylvia; her grandchildren, Jamie and Stephanie Webb and Jared and Ashlyn Shupe; thirteen nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be at 11 AM on Thursday, January 3 at PENIEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 115 E. Market St., Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 10:30 AM. Visitation will also be from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, January 2 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St., Newport. Burial will be private.
The family suggests contributions in Thelma's memory to Peniel UMC.
