Thomas G. "Tomcat" Carr Jr, age 63, of Newark, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022. He was born in San Diego, California, and settled in Newark, Delaware. He was the son of the late Thomas G. Carr Sr. and Barbara (Holler) Carr-Edwards. After graduating from Dickinson High School he served in the United States Army. He was a member of Local Union 1183 at Chrysler, and served on the Veterans Committee and the Durango Launch Team. He completed several scholarly endeavors while at Chrysler, and was happiest learning various interests, from home improvement projects to computer coding. He rooted loudly for the Philadelphia Eagles, and built model train sets from scratch. Tom and his brother Bill have been riding motorcycles from the time they could reach the handlebars, including, notably, Tom Sr.’s Ducati. Tom proudly rode with Road Crue MC.
In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his brother, Raymond Edwards and his wife Cindi Carr. Surviving family members include his brother William (Carole) Carr of Wilmington and his sister Mary Anne (Robert) Flood of VA; sons, Jason Benjamin Carr of Indiana and Cole Bumbaugh of Newark. Daughter, Jessica (David "Big Dave") Price of New Castle, Jasmine (James) Way of Elkton, MD. Grandchildren, Abbi Carr, Ahmir Price, Isabella Price, and Jeremiah Price. Nieces and nephews, Stephanie Wille, William E. Carr, Jr, Melissa Carr, Annabelle Flood and Caroline Flood. Fiancé Cindy Fields of Newark.
Committal Services with Military Honors will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, June 29 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, DE 19701.
