Thomas Connelly, age 80, of Wilmington, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024.
Tom was a Marine Corps Veteran who served two tours in Vietnam. He worked for over 30 years with CSX Transportation until he retired. Tom was a founding member of Surf Casters Club of Delaware and a beloved member of The Training Center where he was affectionately known as the "Candy Man".
Tom enjoyed fishing, gardening, photography, watching the Tour de France, and especially enjoyed his coffee.
Tom is preceded in death by his mother, Mary and step father, Charlie Wozniak.
Survivors include his daughters, Maria Connelly and Kate Farro; grandchildren, Juliana "Cricket" Gibson, J.T. Farro, Logan Farro and Olivia Farro; and his partner in crime, Kathy Evely.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 16, 2024 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road Bear, DE 19701. A visitation will be held prior from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 East Justis Street Newport, DE 19804.
