Age 72, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord on, Sunday, March 21, 2010 at home.
Tom retired as Administrator of Riverside Hospital after 35 years of service. He served in the US Army, assigned to the Medical Corp, attended St. Mark's UMC and enjoyed gardening and reading.
Survivors include his wife, of 35 years, Ernestine "Ernie" A. Dempsey; children, Harold (Kathy), Sue Weaver, Cliff (Annie), Ryan (Beth) and Megan Dempsey; sisters, Carolyn Jensen and Paula Prickett (Grady); and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be 6 pm, Wednesday, March 24th at Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, DE, where visitation will begin at 5:00pm. Interment will be 10am, Thusday, March 25th at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE.
The family suggests contributions, in Tom's memory, to St. Marks United Methodist Church, 1700 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808 or Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Rd., Wilmington, DE 19810.
