Thomas Faux

June 4, 1927 — July 14, 2011

Thomas S. Faux, Sr., age 84, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 14, 2011. His loving wife of 63 years, Marjorie Norris Faux was by his bedside.

Tom was born in Freeland, PA on June 4, 1927 to Stenley T. and May (Cheeseman) Faux. After graduating from Henty C. Conrad High School in 1945, he served his country as a military policeman in France during W.W.II. Tom "Reds" worked for General Motors at the Wilmington Assembly Plant for 30 years. He was a longtime member of Calvary Prsbyterian Church, where he served as Church Sexton for another 23 years. He enjoyed singing in the church choirs and working with the youth. He served as elder, deacon, and dedicated many hours of volunteer service to Calvary. Tom was an avid sportsman who participated in a variety of sports.

He was a devoted husband and loving father to his children, Thomas S. Faux, Jr., who preceded him in death in 2007, Judy Ashley, Karen Schaaf, and their spouses, Emma Faux, Jim Ashley and Bernie Schaaf. Tom was a dedicated grandfather to his 8 grandchildren, Tom, Brian, Barry, Kevin, Jennifer, Cynthia, Keith and Samantha as well as 15 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers Stanley Faux and Leroy Faux.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 701 S. Maryland Ave, Wilmington, DE 19804. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Calvary Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
