Thomas Albert Mantini
Thomas (Tom) Albert Mantini went to the Lord after passing peacefully in his sleep at Millcroft Nursing Home in Newark, DE on August 13th, 2020 at the age of 93. Thomas was born to Albert & Rose Mantini in Philadelphia, PA. He was married to Marguerite Carmella Bomba and Anne Marie Fanelli in which he had six children between the two marriages and was also married to Georgia L. Paul and Genevieve L. McDonald.
After serving in the Army as a medic he returned to Villanova University where he graduated with honors. He worked for various pharmaceutical companies throughout his life and in the early 1980’s accepted a promotion as regional manager for Merrell l Dow Pharmaceuticals and moved to San Antonio, TX. Years later he returned to Philadelphia then moved to Newark, DE.
He enjoyed photography, going to the beach (particularly the Atlantic Ocean), golfing, traveling, technology, gadgets, Italian Food, music in general but especially Italian music, Sunday morning mass and participation of the Catholic worship service and was even an altar boy. He loved spending time with his family and having those large Italian dinners with them.
He is survived by daughters Marie (Dale) Bongiovanni, Dorothy (James) Daniel , Donna (Cliff ) Kleinman, Catherine (George) Sease, son Thomas (Lauren) Mantini, Jr. He also has numerous grandsons John Mitchell, David Mitchell, Jason Kleinman as well as four granddaughters Katelyn Beird, Sienna, Kate and Ella Mantini.
He was preceded in death by his sister Jean V. Mantini, spouses Marguerite Carmella Bomba, Georgia L. Paul and Anne M. Fanelli, daughter Patricia Mantini and grandson Andrew Mitchell.
There will be no visitation due to the on-going pandemic. There will be a private service for the family only at Nichols- Gilmore Funeral Home of Newport, DE.
