Age 92, of Wilmington, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Victor was a longtime Wilmington resident who lived in Vero Beach, FL from 1986 to 2002. He was a manager for US Cold Storage, formerly Diamond Ice and Coal, for 46 years, retiring in 1979.
Victor was a member of Richardson Park United Methodist Church and a member of Five Points Fire Co., Fire Squad of Richardson Park Civic Assoc., a former President, Vice President & Financial Secretary of Five Points Fire Company, organizer and charter member of Delaware State Fire Police and twice president of New Castle County Fire Police.
While living in Florida, he was a 15 year honorary member of the Vero Beach Fire Department, Station 1, Indian River County.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Audrey Levering, in 1982. Survivors include a daughter, Helen D. Ferguson & her husband Eugene of Vero Beach, FL; 3 grandchildren, Jeffrey(Karen)Russell of Fresno, CA; Bradley (Laurie) Russell of Merrimack, NH; and Vicki(Greg)Zion of Brandon, MS; 7 Great Grandchildren; and his loving companion, Bette Farra.
Services will be 10:30am Saturday, August 22nd at Five Points Fire Company, where visitation will be at 9:30. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, N. Dupont Hwy., New Castle.
The family suggests contributions, in Victor's name, to Five Points Fire Company or the Five Points Ladies Auxiliary, 209 S. Maryland Ave., Wilmington, DE 19804.
