Virginia Barksdale

May 22, 1914 — February 28, 2015

Ginnie passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2015. She was born and raised on Wye Island, Maryland, graduating from Centreville High School in 1932.

Ginnie came to Wilmington in 1942 and worked as an engraver for Dravos Shipbuilders during W.W.II. Later she was a bar manager at various Wilmington establishments before retiring from Constantinou’s House of Beef in 1979. Ginnie attended St. Anne’s Catholic Church.

Ginnie was the last surviving child of her family of 6. She is survived by her daughter Joyce B. O’Hagan; her son John W. Barksdale; her grandchildren Joy Arots, John O’Hagan, Don Barksdale and Lyn Zeccola; ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30pm on Friday, March 6 at the CHAPEL OF OUR LADY at ALL SAINTS CEMETERY, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington DE 19808.
