Wanda Lavonne Mulligan passed away peacefully on August 24, 2012.She was 90 years old.
Born and raised in Gosport, IN, Wanda relocated to Newport, DE after her husband was transferred in the United States Air Force. She was a homemaker and enjoyed trips to visit family and spending times with loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Mulligan; her daughters, Kay Ann Walsh and Dee Lynn Akers; and brother, Ernest Grounes, Jr.
Wanda is survived by her daughter, Darla Jo Mulligan; her brother, Perry Grouns (Loretta); sister, Arthella Russell; her grand children, Karen McLeod, Linda Brown(Daniel), Kimberly Rizzo(Steven), Melanie Aube(TJ), Kristin Akers and Timothy Akers, Jr; and great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kirstin McLeod and Mia & Brennen Aube.
Funeral services will be 7 PM, Wednesday, August 29th at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, where visitation will begin at 6 PM. Burial will take place Saturday, September 1st in Gosport, IN.
Wanda's family wishes to thank the wonderful people at the Wilmington Hospital ICU and Seasons Hospice Inpatient Unit for their loving and compassionate care.
