William F. Cathell, Sr. age 81, of Wilmington, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.
Bill graduated from Brown Vocational High School in 1956. He then served in the Navy for 6 years until 1962. He worked at Millwright Local 1545 for 35 years where he was Vice President for 28 years. Bill was a past commander at the VFW Browntown 3257. He enjoyed coin collecting and old cars. His family and friends will remember him for his sense of humor and love of jokes.
Bill was preceded in death by his sons, Brian M. Cathell and William F. Cathell, Jr; his father, Paul L. Cathell, Sr.; and siblings, David, Peggy, Doris, and Chrissy.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Carol M. Cathell; his children, Sharon Panaccione (Mark) and Danny Cathell (Iris); his grandson, Brian Panaccione; and his brothers, Paul (Cassie) and Bob.
Services and burial will be private.
