William Chappell

January 14, 1928 — October 16, 2006

William G. "Bill" Chappell of Stanton, DE passed away October 16, 2006 of complications from Alzheimer's disease.
Bill was born in Grayson County, Virginia on January 14, 1928.He served in the US Army in the Transportation Unit. He later moved to Delaware where he retired from General Motors Corporation, at Boxwood Road, in 1985.
He is survived by his wife, of 35 years, Ruth Chappell; 2 daughters,
Ellen Marie Mancuso & her husband Mark of New Castle, DE and Tracey Chappell of Centreville, VA; 2 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Josephine Chappell & Shirley Burkhardt and 2 brothers, Robert & Paul Chappell of Galax, VA; and 2 sisters, Mary Ann Lineberry of Kernersville, NC and Ella Mae Williams of Winston-Salem, NC. He was preceded in death my his parents; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Funeral services will be 8pm, Thursday, October 19, 2006 at Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, DE, where friends and family can pay their respects beginning at 7pm.
Interment will be 10am, Friday, October 20th, at the chapel at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE.
The family would like to thank the staff of Regal Heights and Vitas Hospice for their kindness to our loved one.
