It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William “Bill” Conway, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandpop. He left us peacefully at the age of 74, after 52 wonderful years of marriage to his beloved wife, Carol. He passed away in the presence of his loving family.
Bill was a man who lived life to the fullest, embodying love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to his family. He was not just the best husband and dad anyone could ask for but also a grandpop who filled the lives of his grandchildren with joy and wisdom.
For 45 years, he dedicated himself to his beloved business, Car-One, where he worked tirelessly until the very end. To him, it never felt like work; it was a passion that brought him immense joy and fulfillment.
In his free time, Bill loved golfing, spending weekends at the beach house, and taking leisurely rides in his golf cart. Whether he was out boating or relishing the beauty of classic cars, he appreciated the simple pleasures in life. He was happy to just go for a drive and watch the corn grow.
Bill is preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Kershaw.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Carol; son, William “Billy” Conway Jr. ( Laurie); daughter, Amy Drennan (Geofrey); grandchildren, Hanna Conway and Brayden Drennan; and brothers, Walt (Cathy), Joe (Diane), Mike (Patsy), and John (Debbie).
He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his warmth, humor, and the love he shared with everyone around him.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 East Justis Street Newport, De 19804, where visitation will begin at 1:00 PM.
Rest in peace, dear husband, dad, and grandpop. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
