Age 93 of Wilmington, formerly of Clayton, DE, departed this life on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Bill was a supervisor with Bell of Pennsylvania for 43 years, retiring in 1983. He served in the Air Force in the South Pacific during WWII, beginning as a PFC and retiring as a Captain.
Bill was a long-time member of Peniel United Methodist Church in Newport and a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary Etta Gooding, in 2006. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Lou Addair; 2 grandchildren, Tammy Jeandell & husband David and Terry Malascalza; and
great grandchildren, Elizabeth & husband Rob, Kyle, Cassandra, Austin & Karissa.
Services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 29th at Peniel United Methodist Church, where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna, DE.
The family suggests contributions in Bill's memory to Peniel UMC, 115 E. Market St., Newport, DE 19804.
