Age 86 of Stanton, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 21, 2012.
Bill was a Textile Engineer for the DuPont Co., at the Louviers site for 35 years, before retiring in 1982. He served in the Navy in the South Pacific aboard the USS Rocky Mount, a communication ship. He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, since 1967. He was a Mason with the Unity Lodge 32 where he was Past Master in 1969 and was also a member of TOP DE 5. Bill enjoyed his HAM radio and was known by his call KC3YT. He also enjoyed computers and sharing time with family and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kim Simione in 2009; his parents, Clarence and Alice Willis; and his sister Evelyn Cordrey. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Bea; his son, Dr. David Willis and his wife Margy of Portland, OR; his daughter, Linda Simione and her husband Steve of Wilmington, DE; his brothers, Clarence A. Willis, Jr. and his wife, Hilda of FL; and Robert Willis of Baltimore, MD; his sisters, Florence James and her husband Edwin of Bridgeville, DE; Helen Harrell of Jarrett, VA; Connie Cummings and her husband Frank of Seaford, DE; and his grandchildren, Kristi White and husband John and Adam and Andrew Willis.
Memorial services will be 11 am, Friday, February 24th at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, where visitation will begin at 9:30a.m. Burial will be private.
