Willie "Duke" Kemp

Marshallton formerly of New Castle - Willie, age 66, went to be with The Lord after a courageous long battle with Brain Cancer.

Willie attended William Penn High School. He worked at NVF for 30 years as well as part time at Star Building Services for many years then at Rock Tenn for 10 years before retiring in 2012. Willie was an associate member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5. He was a member of Fairwinds Baptist Church and Liberty Baptist Church, and was an attending member of the First Baptist Church. He enjoyed bowling and fishing and was an avid car enthusiast. Willie was a devoted father and grandfather.

Willie was preceded in death by his son, Daniel L. Kemp in 2015.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Julia Kemp; his beloved daughter, Amy Kemp; his sons, James Kemp (Heather) and Michael Kemp (Dayna); his sister, Pamela Tuohey (Harry); 8 grandchildren; and other extended family.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 26 at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF DELAWARE, 901 E Basin Rd, New Castle, DE 19720 where visitation will begin at 10 am. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Willie's memory may be made to the Helen Graham Cancer Center, 4735 Ogletown Stanton Rd., Newark, DE 19713.
