Obituary for William L Booker

William L Booker
William L. (Larry Whyte, Jr.) Booker

AGE: 73 • Wilmington

William Lavelle Booker who was born September 6, 1943, went to the great bus stop in the sky on April 13, 2017. He is survived by his sister Monica McMillian many nieces, nephews and friends. Bill was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Though he supposedly had a bit part on "Leave it to Beaver", the role Bill played in our lives cannot be understated. Whether working hard or gleefully singing Christmas Carols, Bill suffused those that surrounded him with joy and simple gifts; revealing to us the delight that can be found in anything.

Bill was an avid reader and writer. He could not be found without a hymnal, bus schedule, marble notebook and pen. An alleged left-handed pitcher for the Phillies, a Navy man, transportation fanatic and number one amigo, Bill was many things to many people but he will always be our buddy Bill.

A celebration of Bill's life will be Saturday May 6th at 1:00pm The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 500 W Chestnut Hill Rd Newark, DE 19713-1158.

In lieu of flowers or donations please treat each person you encounter with the same love and respect that resided in Bill's heart.
