Patricia "Patsy" Newton
AGE: 82 • Wilmington
Patsy passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.
Patsy was a CNA for Naamans Creek Country Manor for 22 years and previously a playground aide for Brandywood Elementary School in the 1970's. She swam for P.S. DuPont High School. Patsy loved all animals and her grandsons, Matthew, Tommy and Cody.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, James Stephen Newton, Sr. in 2002; brothers, Billy and Jimmy Ryan; and her sister, Betty Seaver. Survivors include her sons, James S. Newton, Jr.; Daniel W. Newton and her daughter, Patricia J. Newton; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including Robby Seaver whom she help to raise.
Funeral services will be 12:30 PM on Wednesday, May 10 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, where visitation will begin at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
The family would appreciate contributions in Patsy's memory to Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilm., DE 19801. -
