Obituary for Clifford W Hopkins
Clifford W. Hopkins, age 96, of Newark, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018.
Cliff was an U.S. Army veteran. He worked for DuPont at Stine Laboratory for 22 years before retiring in 1984. Cliff enjoyed volunteering at North Collier Hospital and was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.
Cliff was preceded in death by his wife of 52 and ½ years, Charmie in 1999 and his second wife, Virginia in 2014.
Survivors include his daughter, Karolyn Adkins (George); his sisters, Marie Blevins, Alice McClure, and Clemmie Sturgill; his brother, Carl Hopkins; and other extended family.
Funeral Services will be at 7pm on Thursday, August 2 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis Street, Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 6 pm. Committal Services with military honors will be at 11 am on Friday, August 3 at DELAWARE VETERANS MEMORIAL CEMETERY, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
